This is My Quiet Time

Here alone in the early morn, a new day begun

The sky is turning night to day; soon I will see the sun

But not just yet I softly plead - Just let me sit alone and read

This book, well worn and tattered from all the mornings done

I slowly turn the pages; read the verses one by one

Of God the One who made all things by His eternal power

This is my quiet time, this is my quiet hour
