What did He ever do?

What did He ever do; what did He ever say?
How has He ever let you down, to make you feel this way?
Your self-inflicted pity shades your every point of view
The problem isn't Him; The problem must be you!
I heard you speak His name just now; was it anger…was it pride?
You wear the mask of confidence, but… you know who’s weak inside
Why do you curse the name of Him, someone you don't even know?
Someone you’ve never met before; tell me, why is this so?
What did He ever do; what did He ever say
How has He ever let you down, to make you act this way?
His name above all other names…Jesus Christ the Lord;
The Gentle Lamb; the Sinless One; the Everlasting Word
Wonderful, Counselor, Prince of Peace, the Mighty God is He;
This Friend of Sinners died for all there on that cruel tree
As Jesus died there on the cross He prayed for me; for you
“Father, forgive them, they don't know what they do”
So all this begs the question. Just stop...and think this through
Other than the fact He loves you...What did He ever do?
